China Pesticide Import / Export Situation Analysis




2017 sees the official release of the CPC central commission's No.1 document "CPC central commission and the State Council's opinions on deepening the push on agricultural supply-side reform and accelerating the drive on agricultural and rural area development". This year's a No. 1 document will push agricultural supply-side structural reform as the main line of the "agriculture, rural area and farmer" works.

Zhang Wenjum, Director of international cooperation division of the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA), P.R. China gives analysis of the China pesticide export/ import conditions, pesticide export/ import conditions, grasps the import/ export situation of this year through the data analysis, and gives reference to the enterprises for setting the future export/ import strategy. In his report he points out that "expanding the demand side" will help China pesticide industry do supply side structural reform. In his report he describes the China pesticide export over the past 5 years as "both delighting and worrying". In 2015, China pesticide import and export encountered the first trend of fall in both volume and price and even in bigger amplitude.

China's pesticide export products structure also undergoes change. The raw preparation export proportion increases year after year. Previously the raw preparation always occupied the man position in China pesticide export, but the export volume keeps decreasing year by year, and the export amount remains 60 percent stable. In 2016 the proportion in export volume and amount fell by roughly 10 percent and 6 percent compared with the data of 2011. In recent two years, the proportion of preparations has kept increasing in China pesticide export, and the export volume is fast rising and the export amount is rising steadily. In 2016 the proportion in export volume and amount of preparations increased by roughly 10 percent and 6 percent compared with the data of 2011.

2014-2016 was the export destination countries of China pesticide raw chemicals showed a change of ranking by amount: USA and Brazil still rank top two. Yet in 2016 India rose to the third place from the previous fourth place, and Argentina fell to the fifth place in 2016 from the third place of 2014 and 2015. Among the 30 countries and regions as China pesticide export target countries, only 12 ones have export amount over 100 million USD, totaling 3.298 billion USD, accounting for 58.7% of the total. The export amount of top 10 countries is 3.09 billion USD, accounting for 55.1% of the total amount. Among the top 30 countries and regions of 2015, 22 ones have export amount over 100 million USD, totaling 5.179 billion USD, accounting for 71.1% of the total. The China pesticide export products of 2016 involve over 400 kinds. Glyphosate, Gramoxone, Imidacloprid, Chlorothaloni, Artrex, Chlopyrifos, Sulfentrazone, Clethodim, Sanmate, Aceprate are the top ten among China pesticide export items of 2016.
